DFW SF Dev Group: June- Exception Handling in Callouts by MVP Krithika D

Jun 23, 2021, 11:00 PM – Jun 24, 2021, 1:00 AM

What happens when something goes wrong while using custom REST APIs and making callouts from Salesforce to external systems? Nothing is more frustrating than seeing an ugly and confusing message that gives no hint. You'll learn patterns that allow you to catch each specific exception when it occurs take action (specify an error msg, send email alert, etc.), and communicate exceptions to users.

About this event

Come, virtually join the Dallas Salesforce Developers as we talk all-things-Salesforce and hear about Exception Handling in Callouts from MVP Krithika Dharmarajan, who is a distinguished expert in the integration domain.

Let us face it, nothing is more frustrating to users than seeing an ugly and confusing message due to an Integration failure that gives no hint as to where or why it’s occurring. It is essential to handle code exceptions in a way that fails gracefully, clearly indicating the source and meaning to the user. In this session, you will learn how to catch all kinds of different Apex exceptions using specific catch blocks instead of one generic catch block. Make exception handling effortless and transparent by becoming an exception handling master.

Our monthly meeting is held on the fourth Wednesday of each month on the UTD campus (except during Coronavirus lockdown, when they are held virtually).

The bridge opens at 6:00 PM for socializing, Session starts at 6:30 PM CT.
