About this event

August has been a fast moving month for the Dallas Salesforce Developers Group.  Numerous Salesforce events converged this month to make Dallas the talk of the Salesforce Ecosystem. This month, we will have speakers flying in from Salesforce-San Francisco and Salesforce-Austin to speak on topics as varied as Dreamforce, Heroku and the MVP program.

Holly Goldin-Firestone, worldwide manager of the MVP program and Users Groups will be in town to personally inaugurate the new Dallas MVPs and to discuss the vibrancy of the Dallas Users Groups (congratulations to Rebecca Lammers and DUGee Cal Smith for being selected to the MVP class of Summer 2016!). This will be Holly's first visit to our group, and she will talk to us about how you can use our DUG as a conduit to gain national recognition for your skills and talent.

Aaron George, AE for the Heroku platform will be our technical presenter for the evening.  He will peel back the covers to show us how and why Heroku is central to the Salesforce platform, and what underlying platform the offering runs on (you'll be surprised!).  I spent a fascinating hour with him last week, and left completely awestruck. You will too!

Next, our DUG has been chosen to be the first ever developers group to have a presence on the Salesforce Success Community. This just happened.  So what? For three years, our conversations have been on platforms that are not part of the success community.  That means that exposure for our members' conversations has been restricted to the 900+ members of our group.  Now, these conversations will be exposed to the 2mil+ members of the Salesforce Success community.  Come find out what this means to you!

UNVEILING DallasGiveForce.com! Since our very first year, Dallas Salesforce Developers have quietly given back 2000+ hours to Dallas area charities.  We have implemented numerous Non-profit-Starter-Packs for organizations such as Computers for the Blind and Vogel Alcove.  This year, we are taking that mainstream.  We have been hard at work recruiting like-minded Salesforce addicts from our own ranks and from Dallas area Users Groups.  We will unveil DallasGiveForce.com !

Finally, this meeting is being held in conjunction with the 'Women in Tech' user group.  As such, you have the option of RSVP'ing on the Dallas Salesforce Developers Group meetup.com site, or the Women in Tech site.  Please don't RSVP in both places.  Like last month, we expect to have a full house.  I have requested the large room; even so, I expect this meeting to be Standing-Room-Only.

oh, and of course, in honor of Holly, we will be altering our 'Cake and Libations' after-meeting-mixer to 'Blue Bell and Libations' .  When you meet Holly, you'll understand. Queso rules. Mic drop.

This Month's Speaker: Holly Goldin-Firestone, Aaron George,

See you there!
