Tales from the Trail: One Trailblazer’s Journey from Accidental Admin to Director (Joanna Iturbe - Director of CRM Strategic Initiatives for the Leeds School of Business at The University of Colorado Boulder; Salesforce MVP; Chair, Salesforce Higher Education Advisory Council)
Come along on a journey with Joanna as she recalls her journey from accidental admin to director over the past 13 years in higher education. She’ll share tidbits about herself and her journey, as well as some initiatives the Council is working on this year and the innovative things Leeds is doing with Salesforce. She’ll finish off her tales with some cool things she thinks are on the forefront for higher ed as well as some trends and risks she sees for the future of higher ed, especially in the time of COVID-19.

The Journey of OneBadger (Kyla Farroll - University of Wisconsin-Madison)
When undergraduate admissions and continuing studies groups began using Salesforce for recruiting in 2018, their success story spread quickly across campus. In 2019, over 40 different groups at UW-Madison expressed interest in using Salesforce, which led to the creation of an enterprise CRM program centrally located in the Division of Information Technology. In this session, we'll talk about laying the foundation for an enterprise strategy to promote and execute a campus-wide OneBadger CRM implementation, including multi org vs. single org considerations, governance, intake and evaluation processes, resourcing, and partnerships with vendors. In addition, we'll also discuss the massive disruption COVID-19 had on the enterprise program, and how we changed course to make the most of new limitations.
4:25 PM
Summit Events – Open Sourced Higher Ed (and more) Event Solution (Thaddaeus Dahlberg and Ryan Blake - University of St. Thomas)
Events in higher education are one of the most valuable modes of engagement. The data tends to show increases in yield rates, retention rates, alumni engagement and willingness to donate. Having this data in your Salesforce CRM gives the opportunity to centralize university processes, utilizing a single tool to manage events, and allows for a 360 degree perspective on the universities most valuable resources. This sessions will touch on the development of the Salesforce Open Source solution to event management, why and how that solution is available to the higher education community for free as well as talk about how you can engage in the development of the Summit Events App.
5:00 PM
Stabilize, Reopen, and Evolve with Salesforce and Work.com (Jonathan Maher - Salesforce.org)
Using Salesforce and Work.com, institutions can take a thoughtful approach to returning to campus. Work.com is an all-new suite of apps, expertise, and services designed to work alongside existing Salesforce tools to help institutions make critical decisions on when and how to reopen safely. Salesforce is innovating quickly and working alongside our education customers to provide institutions with the solutions they need to scale support services, make informed decisions, and protect their communities.
