May Meeting - Focused Topic
At our first general meeting in April, we talked about having more frequent and deeper-dive meetings on individual topics. I published a Meetup.com poll shortly after the April meeting for group members to vote on what they would like to see as the first topic...
Without further ado, "Integration / Interoperability with other systems in Real Time" won out as the first topic by a very slim margin.
"Sites and Portals" was short only by one vote, HOWEVER...a little birdie told me that we should wait on this until later this summer as some cool new stuff was being introduced in the near term...
As we continue to meet and further grow our group, we are going to be trying out a number of different meeting places. For the May meeting, we will be at Bent Creek Golf Club in Eden Prairie. BCGC is about 1.5 miles west of 494 on Valley Creek Road.
The meeting will start at 2pm and will go until 5pm.
Food and Beverage will be provided to all attendees - if you have special dietary concerns, please let me know as soon as you can, otherwise you can expect the usual snacks and soda/water.
RSVPs will also be closed one (1) day prior to the event (May 15th) - we are limiting this group to twenty (20) attendees (Updated! 30 attendees now!) so get your response in fast! =)
(also - if you have guests that you would like to bring with, please have them join our Meetup group and RSVP - thanks!)
Joining us via WebConference will be Josh Birk, a Salesforce.com Developer Evangelist from Chicago. He will be presenting on a number of technologies such as:
Database.com to SFDC Data connectivity Streaming API Authentication Provider (OAuth) Mobile I am also looking for those of you who have done data interop / integration between SDFC and other DBMSs. If you are able and willing to share your experiences (with examples?) that would be excellent as well - please let me know ASAP if you are willing.
I (Andy) will be presenting clips from a past project I did with a real-time data interop / integration between SFDC and a VB.NET/SQL application as well.
The format of the meeting will be very informal; each of the topics mentioned above will be presented and discussed with open (and expected! ) group participation. Come ready to learn, share, and challenge the status quo!
