Salesforce Developer Group, Syracuse, United States
Developer teams are moving to CI/CD, which helps improve delivery time and reduce errors. Traditionally the domain of programmers, it’s time to expand everyone’s knowledge of source control systems. Salesforce admins make code changes to the system too. Designed for admins and new programmers, this session will cover why we use source control, how it conceptually works, and the basics of git.
Developer teams are moving to Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery. Using CI/CD helps improve delivery time and reduce errors. Traditionally the domain of programmers, it’s time to expand everyone’s knowledge of source control systems. Salesforce admins make code changes to the system too. Every new field, every validation rule, every process builder…that’s essentially code that needs to be integrated! Admins are now fundamentally a part of the software development organization, and should not be dependent on developers to make their system changes. Designed for admins and new programmers, this session will cover why we use source control, how it conceptually works, and the basics of git. Thinking of transitioning to an adminveloper? You’ll need to know this.
We welcome all Salesforce builders, crafters, developers and programmers. Admins, business analysts, data analysts, report builders and end users are all encouraged to come and share your knowledge and kinship. You don't have to write code to join in. There is no membership exam. If you have an interest in Salesforce, come to our next meetup! We also welcome Salesforce employees, partners and students.
The Tech Garden is located on Harrison St, next to AXA Towers (formerly MONY building). We will meet in the Fibertech Theater. Harrison parking garage is located right across the street. On street parking is also available nearby.
