A platform can be like an elephant, with customers like the blind men of legend each encountering only one piece and mistaking it for the whole. It can be like a kaleidoscope, with a moderate number of elements continually shifting their relationship to create a confusing perception of overwhelming complexity. Or it can be like the menu at The Counter chain of made-to-order burger shops, with options and recommended combinations clearly stated and clearly priced.
