Come join us virtually for community introductions and a presentation by our very own community member Krithika Dharmarajan, who will be presenting on Exception Handling in Callouts. We will also have time for introductions, community announcements, and post-presentation questions. Krithika is a Salesforce Developer with over 6 years experience, currently working at Slalom. --- Gotta Catch Em All - Exception Handling in Callouts What happens when something goes wrong while using custom REST APIs and making callouts from Salesforce to external systems? Let's face it, nothing is more frustrating to users than seeing an ugly and confusing message due to an Integration failure that gives no hint as to where or why it’s occurring. It's essential to handle code exceptions in a way that fails gracefully, clearly indicating the source and meaning to the user. In this session you’ll learn how to catch all kinds of different Apex exceptions using specific catch blocks instead of one generic catch block. You'll learn design patterns that allow you to catch each specific exception when it occurs, take action (roll-back, specify an error message, send email alert, etc.), and communicate exceptions to users in an easy to understand and actionable way. Make exception handling effortless and transparent by becoming an exception handling master.
