We have heard that Flow is the future for a while now, but with the announcement of Process Builders and Workflow Rules being retired, Flow is officially the future of declarative automation on the Salesforce platform. Before you jump right into building Flows, we recommend creating a foundational architecture for Flow at the beginning to avoid technical debt and future issues.
