Trailblazers from around the USA are coming together to volunteer at food banks in their local communities to help "Fight Hunger, Feed Hope" for those in need.
On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, the world celebrates the 40th anniversary of Band-Aid's classic song "Do They Know It's Christmas?" It became the catalyst for other global musical charity events like “USA for Africa,” “Farm AID,” and “Live AID,” as well as other social justice causes like “Sun City.”
Inspired by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Harry Chapin, and Bob Geldof, plus taking into account this year is the 40th anniversary of Band-Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”, I believed we could accomplish something ambitious with finding Trailblazers around the USA (and maybe the world?) to find time to work in their local food banks, soup kitchens, or homeless shelters on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 – the 40th anniversary of the recording’s release to the world.
We will gather at The Akron Food Bank, space is limited to 5 volunteers so please ensure that you can make it once you register! I will send you the link for sign-up
Together, we can build a world without hunger. We are raising funds for the global organization, WhyHunger, co-founded in 1975 by Harry Chapin. WhyHunger fuels grassroots solutions around the globe that nourish people with healthy food, protect our land and resources and put justice at the center of our food system. Learn more and give here.
Donate Here to lend financial support to WhyHunger! Our goal is to raise $25,000 for their efforts.
If you or someone you know needs help accessing food, the WhyHunger Hotline at 1-800-5-HUNGRY and online search at WhyHunger.org/FindFood helps veterans, seniors, families and working people around the country find food in their neighborhoods in times of need.
