Salesforce User Group, Prague, Czechia
We are meeting at AutoRABIT to listen to Andrew Davis and his talk about security and Martin Humpolec about Salesforce features you probably don't use.
Andrew Davis will take the first part of the meeting speaking about securing Salesforce and how to take shared responsibility seriously.
After quick break Martin Humpolec will deliver his award winning (best presenter at PolishDreamin 2024) presentation about things which you can use in Salesforce but you probably don't know about them.
Summary
Salesforce has led the way in ensuring data safety in the cloud for over 25 years. While Salesforce secures the platform, companies must secure their instances. Short-staffed teams and limited security expertise pose challenges. This session covers key aspects of Salesforce security and steps to secure instances.
Detail
For 25 years, Salesforce has led the world in reassuring people that their data is safe in the cloud. They have won that argument and it is now universally accepted that data is safe in the cloud as long as it is secured correctly.
But “as long as it is secured correctly” is a lot to assume. That caveat reveals the limit of what “Salesforce Trust” really means. Salesforce Trust protects the underlying platform. But protecting your data and configuration falls into the realm of Shared Responsibility.
What is the shared responsibility model?
It is the understanding that while Salesforce does their part to secure the underlying platform, every company is on their own to secure their Salesforce instance and to ensure it is configured properly. That is easier said than done in a world where Salesforce teams are short-staffed and security expertise is limited. This session will cover the primary aspects of Salesforce security and the key steps that we can take to secure our Salesforce instances.
