Inclusive Language in Technology

Oct 10, 10:00 PM – Oct 11, 12:00 AM (UTC)

Salesforce User Group, Louisville, Kentucky, United States

Join Nicole Hansen for a look at how to ensure your tech language is inclusive.

About this event

In the tech industry, there are legacy terms commonly used in code that are racist, ableist, or sexist (or all three). In my roles, I have helped launch initiatives to identify and remove those words and phrases so that our inclusion practices extend to everyone interacting with our code and reading our documentation. I will share examples of language we are looking to eliminate and the inclusive alternatives, suggestions for how to approach a project like this, and resources you can use to tackle this in your org.
