[October NPUG] Program Management and more with the Montana Conservation Corps

Oct 20, 2020, 10:30 – 11:30 PM (UTC)

Salesforce Nonprofit User Group, Seattle, United States

Montana Conservation Corps (MCC) will demo their use of Salesforce for program management (plus a COVID tracking dashboard) and discuss the keys to their success. See how they manage everything from project planning, member management, and risk management incidents. MCC is able to run at-a-glance dashboards of their project accomplishments alongside development and risk management information.

About this event

In 2016 when the Montana Conservation Corps (MCC) leadership sat down to create their five-year plan, they were coming off of a period of massive program growth. They decided to plateau their programs and invest in internal systems to support the recent and eventual future growth. One of those investments was a Salesforce instance to manage everything from project planning, member management, risk management incidents and more. Now they are able to run at-a-glance dashboards of their project accomplishments alongside development and risk management information.

We'll see a full demo of their Salesforce (+their recent COVID tracking dashboard) and hear why they've had so much success.

MCC inspires young people through hands-on conservation service to be leaders, stewards of the land, and engaged citizens who improve their communities. They run a number of programs with 700 participants/year with 37 employees—most of which are using Salesforce for their day-to-day work.

Nicholas 'Rusty' Rustigian is the Database Manager for MCC in Bozeman, MT. Rusty began with Salesforce at the Northwest Avalanche Center in Seattle. His Salesforce experience grew in Bozeman working with another nonprofit before beginning Salesforce consulting work. Wanting to have a greater impact with his skillset (and a less stressful work environment), Rusty joined MCC in 2019. He's a certified Salesforce Administrator and co-leader of the Bozeman Non-Profit User Group. He jokes that he doesn't care if he ever logged into Salesforce ever again, however, he does love interacting with different organizations and helping them build their capacity and streamline processes.
