In the tech industry, there are legacy terms commonly used in code that are racist, ableist, or sexist (or all three). In her roles, Nicole has helped launch initiatives to identify and remove those words and phrases so that inclusion practices extend to everyone interacting with code and documentation. These initiatives are always a work in progress, and she has learned from other orgs along the way. Nicole will share examples of language we should look to eliminate and the inclusive alternatives, challenges you may encounter along the way, and resources you can use to tackle this in your org.
