Have you ever wondered if you should use Visualforce, Aura Components, or Lighting Web Components in your project? Which technology is faster and more efficient? Would a combination of components work better? What version of JavaScript supports these technologies?

On September 8th, we will be continuing our look at "Getting Started with JavaScript in Salesforce" by Dan Appleman. In our February 2021 meeting we viewed the introduction of this course. We looked at and setup the prerequisite tools needed to work with the material. In our May meeting we dug into the details of JavaScript language itself. Dan contrasted JavaScript with Apex, and show the differences and similarities.  In this session we will wrap up with by looking briefly at asynchronous JavaScript, then we will review and contrast the different ways JavaScript is used in LWC, Aura components, and Visualforce. Once we are finished, you should have a good grasp of basic JavaScript and its use in Salesforce.

Dan Appleman is a well known author, software developer, Salesforce MVP, and speaker. Currently the CTO of Full Circle Insights, he is the author of numerous books, ebooks, and online courses on various topics (technology and other). His latest book is "Advanced Apex Programming"
