Enhancing LWC Development with Storybook - A practical guide for Salesforce Devs
Lightning Web Components are powerful — but developing them in isolation, testing edge cases, and sharing progress can be a hassle. Enter Storybook: a robust front-end tool that helps you build and preview components outside of Salesforce. This session offers a step-by-step guide to integrating Storybook with LWC, from setup and data mocking to real-world usage. We’ll also touch on its limitations, like partial LWC support and CI considerations, to help you decide where it fits best in your dev process. Expect code, clarity, and a workflow upgrade.
Iceberg Metadata API - The art of automating deployments
You work as a developer or configurator and your team uses the Salesforce CLI to extract metadata from the development org, store it in a repository, and deploy it to a test environment? In this case you have certainly had to deal with strange behaviours or gaps in the Metadata API. Things like that occur unexpected and can delay the delivery of sprint results always when it is most inconvenient.
Over the last three years, I have supported teams at various NGO clients in exactly this challenge. I will present selected highlights from my experience in the style of the iceberg meme. Starting at the top and going deep below sea level I want to make participants aware of typical issues and provide tips and tools for reliable deployments.
This session is for anyone who develops solutions on the Salesforce platform - regardless of whether with or without code - as well as for DevOps experts who support others in this. Basic knowledge of the DevOps approach is helpful. I will not cover commercial products, instead I will stick to a Salesforce Enterprise Edition and open source tools.
