May 31, 2023, 5:00 – 7:00 PM (UTC)
Salesforce Developer Group, Bristol, United Kingdom
The May Salesforce Developer meetup will be hosted at Desynit's office (30 Queen Charlotte Street) on Wednesday 31st May, doors open at 6pm There will be pizza, drinks, lots of Salesforce development content and plenty of chat with your local development community.
For this meetup we will be at the Desynit office. Pizza and refreshments will be provided on arrival.
Our presentation this month comes from Aidan Harding, Technology Director at Nebula Consulting (and Bristol Developer Group regular), who will be exploring the world of asynchronous development in his presentation "Event driven: Don’t fear the async". In his own words:
"In the beginning, programs were simple. They ran in one place, step by step. Sure, we had bugs. But, through engineering, we found ways to tame them. Then we started running things in parallel. The programs went fast, but they went wrong fast. We discovered new kinds of parallel bugs that tortured our human brains.
Salesforce does a great job of letting us pretend to live in a single-threaded world. But when should we build event-based asynchronous systems? And how can we get them right?"
The meetup will be hosted indoors. We ask all attendees to please be aware of their health. If you feel unwell, or have any cold / flu like symptoms then please do not come to the meetup (don't fret, our next meetup is only a few months away). Masks are not mandatory, and we ask you all to please respect each attendees choice on if they wear one or not.
Following the presentations, we will be heading out to the nearby King Street to continue the discussion of all things Salesforce and development.
We cannot wait to see you there!
