About this event

We are delighted to be joined in April by two titans of the Salesforce Developer Community, Peter Chittum and Matt Lacey!

Peter is known to many of us for his 12 year stint as a Developer Evangelist and Director of Developer Relations at Salesforce.  Since 2023 he has brought his expertise in all aspects of development and developer relations to a variety of high profile organisations, as well as developing his personal interest in the fast-moving world of AI.  Peter will be bringing his talk "Making Sense of AI Models":

The world of AI revolves around the construct of a “model”. But unpacking what exactly this is can be daunting. Treat your self to a visual feast that breaks down the core concepts behind modern AI models. Starting from basic machine learning algorithms, and working through the most state of the art LLM architectures, walk away with a greater sense of what a model is, how it works, and even more importantly why to select a given model. For AI beginners of all technical roles and levels.

Matt is a developer who started in the games industry and has been working on the Salesforce platform since 2009.  In 2015 he co-founded Proximity, an ISV/OEM partner working on retail solutions. He is a member of the Salesforce MVP Hall of Fame and has been a moderator of the Salesforce StackExchange since it’s inception in 2012.  Matt's talk is entitled "Read Fewer Logs; The Replay Debugger":

A quick introduction to the replay debugger, a very useful tool available in VS code that (mostly) removes the need to litter your codebase with calls to System.Debug().

The meetup will be hosted at the Desynit office. Pizza and refreshments will be provided on arrival. We ask all attendees to please be aware of their health. If you feel unwell, or have any cold / flu like symptoms then please do not come to the meetup (don't fret, our next meetup is only a couple of months away).

Please note: Salesforce no longer reimburses us for alcoholic drinks bought for these events, and since we do not (currently) take sponsorship we will not be providing any. Following the presentations, we will be heading out to a nearby venue to continue the evening, but there will not be a bar tab as in the past, sorry! We welcome any feedback about how these events work, so please let us know what you think.

We cannot wait to see you there!
