What is multi-factor authentication? Before you can learn about multi-factor authentication, you must understand authentication itself. Authentication, simply put, is the process of verifying that someone is who they say they are. With user credential breaches becoming more prevalent in recent years, relying only on a username and password to identify someone isn't a great practice.
