September is Security… We have lined up 3 talks covering cyber security relating to Salesforce and everyday working and being online. This may seem like a dry subject, but there will be lots of insights into the world of cybercrime, including who is the stereotypic criminal, how they make a living, and how we can thwart them. It will be a fun and informative evening with a virtual duck race too
Security and how to protect your personal belongings, identity, and information has changed dramatically over the last 100 years. New security measures are constantly evolving as a result of new threats. After WW1 there was a significant increase in crime in the US, with homes being burgled. As a result, a new "Door Shaker" service was established where night watchmen would shake subscriber's doors each night to make sure they were locked. Fast forward to today and we have alarms, CCTV, motional sensors, internal connected video doorbells.
We know to lock our doors, turn on an alarm, close windows, not leave valuables lying around because not doing so would give a burglar an easy target. But what about online, do we leave doors and windows unlocked, level valuable information visible for all to see?
September’s HUG meeting will give a great insight into easy measures we can undertake to tighten up our cybersecurity.
There will also be a virtual duck racing with prizes, including a free certification voucher and other Salesforce swag.
We have kept the meeting to an hour to keep from Zoom-overload.
See you in September.
