Trailblazer AID | Trailblazers Uniting to End Hunger Together! DC Edition

Dec 3, 10:30 PM – Dec 4, 1:00 AM (UTC)

Salesforce Admin Group, Columbia, MD, United States

Join us to volunteer at DC Central Kitchen as part of TrailblazerAID on December 3

About this event

On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, the world celebrates the 40th anniversary of Band-Aid's classic song "Do They Know It's Christmas?" It became the catalyst for other global musical charity events like “USA for Africa,” “Farm AID,” and “Live AID,” as well as other social justice causes like “Sun City.”

Inspired by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Harry Chapin, and Bob Geldof, plus taking into account this year is the 40th anniversary of Band-Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”, Joseph Kubon believed we could accomplish something ambitious with finding Trailblazers around the USA (and maybe the world?) to find time to work in their local food banks, soup kitchens, or homeless shelters on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 – the 40th anniversary of the recording’s release to the world.

The information below is where we will gather here in Washington, DC to work at helping drive forward with an effort to end hunger, while our other Trailblazers take up the cause in their communities from coast to coast.

Together, we can build a world without hunger. We are raising funds for the global organization, WhyHunger, co-founded in 1975 by Harry Chapin. WhyHunger fuels grassroots solutions around the globe that nourish people with healthy food, protect our land and resources and put justice at the center of our food system. Learn more and give here.

Donate at https://whyhunger.donorsupport.co/page/FUNKADXSDXB to lend financial support to WhyHunger! Our goal is to raise $25,000 for their efforts.

If you or someone you know needs help accessing food, the WhyHunger Hotline at 1-800-5-HUNGRY and online search at WhyHunger.org/FindFood helps veterans, seniors, families and working people around the country find food in their neighborhoods in times of need.
