Bring your laptop and learn how to build essential custom report types and reports. Evan Ponter (Application Architect and Independent Salesforce Consultant) and Justin Barrs (Chief Engagement Officer at Apsona) will be leading this hands-on session, answering questions, and helping you understand the capabilities of the reporting tools in Salesforce.
Justin will kick us off with an introduction to data literacy, why it's important, and how it contributes to success for your Salesforce implementation.
Then Evan will lead the hands-on portion. Are there details from lookup records that you've wanted to include in a report? We'll show you some techniques to uncover what is possible with your current data architecture and then build a custom report type that enables the creation of that report. You can use a real scenario or make one up. You'll want to have an environment set up with some data and the ability to make changes to custom report types. Don't get yourself in trouble by using your employer's production instance.
If you don't have an environment or you can't think of a scenario, you can create a developer edition here ahead of time to follow along with the example: https://trailhead.salesforce.com/promo/orgs/analytics-de
Once you can sign into that org, go to the Trailhead Data Manager tab and click "Refresh DTC Data".
Parking is free. Once inside the building, take the elevator to the 7th floor and check-in at the Enterprise Community Partners front desk.
