Welcome to 2017! We are sneaking in a January meeting and hope you will join us to hear about testing and technical debt, two important topics in our ecosystem that may help you with your Salesforce Org New Year's Resolutions (you have them, yes??).
To get us started off right, Larry Latimer will review new techniques for writing unit and functional test that focus on the base of the testing pyramid so that you can feel confident in your regression tests and know that your code is production-ready. You'll learn to develop modular and atomic Apex methods to reduce database dependencies during testing.
But wait - there's more! Stop us if you've heard this: “Just get it into production and we will deal with that issue in the next sprint.” That’s PM speak for “this is never going to happen until something else breaks” and drives users, admins, developers, PMs and the C-suite headache after headache while diminishing confidence in our systems. For this part, Angela Mahoney will give a sneak preview to the presentation she is delivering at London's Calling in February on technical debt, which can bog down even the best orgs. You will learn to identify, talk about and deal with technical debt and explore ways to work through it.
