September presents a **great** opportunity to learn about Aura and how to add it to your skill set. Aura is a component framework for developing dynamic web apps for mobile and desktop devices, while providing a scalable long-lived lifecycle to support building apps engineered for growth. (Thanks to Cloudspokes for this definition.) As an example, SF1 is built on Aura, so you have seen it before.
We will have Skip Sauls, Director Product Management - Platform at salesforce.com onsite to present, with Doug Chasman, Aura architect/superstar at Salesforce presenting remotely. They will cover how Aura Extensions allow Admins to override the default Salesforce1 UI with custom or 3rd party components. These extensions allow for component substitution for fields on an object, data types, and tabs for a record (!!!). We may even get a peek into the Aura future.
When you RSVP, make sure to indicate whether you will be on site or if you prefer to attend via webinar (we will send that later). We will post more info as we put this together but wanted to get a Save the Date out for your calendar.
In the meantime, check out this blog post for more info:
