Please join us as we discuss accessibility considerations for digital marketing assets. We'll discuss how design choices, formatting, and just a little bit of code help make assets more accessible to people who use a screen reader to access the internet or are hearing impaired.
Missy Kahn from Certified Languages International, and Ben Kahn, from University of Portland will be presenting!
According to this Wired article about screen readers published in October 2019: https://www.wired.com/story/web-accessibility-blind-users-dominos/
"There are around 7 million people with a visual disability in the United States", and one "accessibility report analyzing the top million homepages on the web estimates that just 1 percent meet the most widely used accessibility standards."
There are so many people who could potentially benefit from assistive technology, and it often doesn't take a lot to make the internet more accessible to everyone, no matter how they access it.
