About this Meeting

• What we'll do
PhillyForce member, Jeff Lombard of WalzIT, will be our guest presenter for the evening to kick-off our 2018 meetings right! He'll be discussing a wide-range of Lightning-focused topics, catering to all skillsets, to highlight where Lightning stands at the start of this new year.

Bio: Jeff has been developing full-fledged Lightning Applications for over a year working with Salesforce in their Hillsboro, OR location and with WalzIT in King of Prussia, PA. Working with manufacturers and industrial companies for the past 10 years, prior to getting involved with Salesforce Jeff worked as a JavaScript/Python Developer, a WordPress Developer, and a Marketing Coordinator.

Overview: Salesforce Lightning as will all tech, has some good features and some not so good features. In this talk, we'll explore some of the strengths of the Lightning framework as well as some of the shortcomings. We'll explore workarounds and advice on how to address some of the not so great parts. This talk is geared toward developers who have already done the Lightning Trailheads and want to learn more about developing on the Lightning platform, but business stakeholders and admins will also get a better understanding of what software development in Lightning actually entails.
