Salesforce Admin Group, Philadelphia, United States
This month, we’re doing a regional meetup with the other local groups before the NPSP sprint. SF MVP Trish Perkins will do a talk on how she uses SF for Social Work, and fellow MVP Corey Snow will talk about building a CRM Center of Excellence. Finally, the generous folks from Capstorm will raffle off an Oculus Quest gaming headset!
This month, the local Ohana will do a joint event the night before the NPSP sprint. To kick us off, SF MVP Trish Perkins will talk to us about how she uses Salesforce for Social work. Trish has been traveling the world since the 1970s and will discuss her path from technophile to Salesforce Admin. Trish has a unique business plan -- she works as a consultant for non-profits in the United States, and uses the fees to pay for her far-flung trips around the world. Once she arrives for an international gig, she usually stays a month and always works for food and lodging (...and internet and transportation for work.) She'll talk about how she can afford to work this way, and how others might be able to benefit from her experience to do more international travel combined with Salesforce "volunteering."
Next, fellow MVP, Corey Snow will talk about building a CRM Center of Excellence and will use examples from his tenure at Harvard. Like many research institutions, Harvard University is comprised of many departments, schools, affiliated programs, and initiatives furthering a wealth of diverse missions. Corey will talk about how various departments are leveraging the Salesforce platform to power up their mission. We’ll also dive into other use-cases for research centers interested in leveraging the Salesforce platform to improve their work, and the world.
Finally, Mary from Capstorm will do a preso on their on-premises Salesforce backup and recovery solution. She will dive into some of the more difficult aspects of data restoration. Primarily, how to keep Salesforce records and the corresponding record relationships together when performing Salesforce disaster recovery, sandbox seeding or data migrations. Bring your business cards to win a Oculus Quest gaming headset!
