June Dev meetup - Version Control + CI, and thanks Anup

Check out what happened

About this event

As usual the plan is for 2 great talks... with maybe one or two surprises too :)

Talk 1: Gunish Rai Chawla - Version Control and CI without Scratching your Head

Not every project is ready to adopt scratch orgs, but this is not an obstacle to adopting Salesforce's newest developer tools. You can still use effective version control and CI using DX tools, no matter which development orgs you use. This talk shows you how to set up a GIT repository, connect it to two non-scratch org environments, and create a pull request. Once the pull request is merged, the CI Tool automatically picks up the code branch, runs unit tests and deploys it to production. You'll learn about how changes in the Tooling API allow us to create code branches which are source control friendly and allow us to do easier packaging, even generate package.xml automatically.

Talk 2: Anup, This is your Life

Surprise for Anup. After eight years looking after our community group, Anup is stepping down as co-lead.

RSVPs will open nearer the event, and please remember to RSVP only if you really intend to attend, but if you do intend on coming then don't dilly-dally, as RSVPs will close several days before the event to ensure we get attendee information to the venue's security team.
