About this event

On the weekend of the 26th and 27th July, London held the 2014 Summer of Hacks event. The event was a great opportunity for technology enthusiasts to pitch an idea for a Salesforce app or feature, and then team up with designers and developers to hack it out over a 48hr period.

Local development consultancy Desynit sent along three representatives (all Bristol DUG members) Matthew Morris, Shaun Holmes and Christopher Lewis. At the event, they formed team "Accident Alert", building a highly interactive health and safety app, designed to be used directly in Salesforce1.

Following a hectic weekend, the team were super pleased with the resulting app, and so were the judges at the event, awarding them first prize (and a giant novelty cheque to boot!) :D

At this next event, hear the whole story behind the hackathon experience from team Accident Alert, including pitching the idea, best strategies for quick development, and survivial techniques (red bull + chicken burgers essential).

We look forward to seeing you all there!
