SUMMER IS HERE! That can mean only two things. It's time to dust of your barbecue, and a new Salesforce release is here! And this time, it's full of snorkels and bears.
In this edition of the Bristol Salesforce Developer User Group, we are once again meeting at the Royal Navy Volunteer on Kings Street. Doors will open at 6:00pm. We have two presentations lined up for the evening:
6:30pm Apex Metadata API
Salesforce provides a great comprehensive setup menu that allows you to customise your Salesforce edition to your hearts content. It also provides the Apex coding language for manipulating data in your organisation. Wouldn't it be great if you could combine the two, and edit your organisations setup from within an Apex class.... enter the Apex Metadata API, which allows you to do just that.
Co-organiser Chris will be running the group through how the Apex Metadata API can control your org, a demo of it in action, and open the discussion for where it might move to in the future (safe harbour).
7:00pm Summer '18 Developer Highlights
Summer '18 is here and has plenty of new features for developers. In this session we will walk you through the new release by reading through the entire release document on stage start to finish....... maybe not (we do not have the venue for 46 hours).
Instead, we will both be walking through our favourite new features for developers in Summer '18. This will be demo heavy, showing useful examples of the new enhancements in action.
If you would like to get involved, and present your own favourite feature, then please get in touch with us! We would love to hear from you.
7:30pm General Discussion
After our presentations for the evening we will continue in the venue to chat all things Salesforce Development. The hot debate will be what the future could hold for the Salesforce release images... Our money is on a goat with ice skates for Winter '19!
We will have a tab running at the venue, which offers a great range of beer, wine, spirits and alcohol-free drinks.
We look forward to seeing you there!
