Join us for a special developer meetup at Saleforce.com offices in San Mateo on December 7th starting at 6:00 p.m. This event will enable you to learn and explore the Force.com platform. You’ll also get a chance to meet our technical experts. And, we'll supply food & drinks. More details...
Track 1: Introduction to Force.com Platform
For those new to Force.com, we’ll get you up and building apps in the cloud in no time! This track introduces you to the basics of the Force.com platform. Then, we turn it over to you to create your first cloud app via step-by-step tutorials. Track 2: Building Mobile Force.com Apps / Explore Streaming API
Developing mobile applications for a Social Enterprise requires some fundamental choices. Will you develop native applications for each device, build HTML5 browser-based solutions, or take a hybrid approach? In this session, we'll compare the three primary options for developing mobile applications, identify the pros and cons of each approach, and demonstrate the use of the Salesforce.com Mobile SDK to build enterprise-ready mobile apps.
Next, the Force.com Streaming API, lets you expose a near real-time stream of data from the Force.com platform in a secure and scalable way. Administrators can create topics, to which applications can subscribe, receiving asynchronous notifications of changes to data in Force.com, via the Bayeux protocol. During the second part, you’ll learn how you can get started using it from areas such as Java client applications and Visualforce pages.
