Use Reporting Snapshots to show how an aggregate figure changes over time. At Hostelling International USA and many other non-profits, tracking the number of active members over time is a very valuable KPI. By setting up an object to store the results of a reporting snapshot, a standard Salesforce report and/or dashboard can be built to highlight how this calculation has fluctuated over a set period of time. Taking the idea one step further, you can even store other related aggregate calculations within the same object - such as tracking the trends of active members who have a particular type of membership. With just a few setup steps, reporting snapshots make all of this possible.
