Deconstructing UX in the Lightning Design System

About this event

Robert Tuttle has over 20 years of experience as a developer, architect, hacker, inventor, problem solver, and team leader, his portfolio of work represents a breadth and depth of technical expertise and a passion for delivering innovative user experiences. He is now Executive Technology Director at frog. He will present Deconstructing UX in the Lightning Design System.

The Lightning design system currently offers basic guidance on foundational design concepts and standard UI components that help optimize the “80%” of common user interactions with data and workflows. The core design principles of clarity, efficiency, consistency, and beauty speak to the tactical nature of delivering applications that fit within the Salesforce UX ecosystem. Where Lightning as a framework stops (and Trailhead doesn’t necessarily lead) is when more strategic design thinking is required to help users understand and distinguish between data, information, and insights depending on their context and individual needs. This talk will unpack the current value that Lightning provides while highlighting design considerations that exist beyond it to deliver impactful UX in applications.
