About this event

For our October Event, the Salesforce User Community is teaming up with the Twin Cities Non-Profit and WIT Communities to bring you an amazing group of speakers. 
We are working to bring you Margaret Fako & Michael Slawnik, from the Interlochen Center for the Arts and David Giller, from Brainiate.  
Margaret Fako is a technology professional in the arts/education nonprofit realm.  She is a Salesforce MVP,  and co-leader of the Michigan Nonprofit Salesforce Community Group where she engages and assists nonprofit colleagues.
Michael Slawnik is the Manager, Information Technology Applications and Development at Interlochen Center for the Arts, where almost everything they do is on or connected to the Salesforce platform: fundraising, enrollment, ticket sales, student billing, and HR. Michael is co-leader of the Michigan Nonprofit Community Group and has been a Salesforce MVP since 2017.
David Giller helps organizations to "make Salesforce easy" by training users, identifying areas to improve the existing Salesforce configuration, and sharing best practices to help organizations get the most out of the Salesforce platform.

2:45 PM	Melanlie Fellay - From Implementation to Adoption: Continuous Learning in Salesforce	Odds are, every single admin in the user group has a completely unique Salesforce instance. Between customized fields, plugins, processes, acronyms and integrations - Salesforce is designed to map to each of our bespoke business needs. While this is great for the business, it also adds complexity for the people using the tool every day to get work done. From initial training and onboarding to ongoing process and tool changes, it seems like keeping documentation and teams up-to-date is a never-ending process. While managing Salesforce for a fast-growing org, my co-founder and I felt this pain first-hand. We struggled with low Salesforce adoption, outdated or difficult to access training and constant change. We dabbled with LMS solutions but those forced our employees to go dig in another tool for answers (which never happened!). We toyed with walkthrough solutions but they were incredibly difficult to create/maintain and broke every time a process changed. What we needed was a centralized platform that would automatically create training around existing Salesforce processes and surface that training when and where users needed it, directly within their workflow. It needed to be easy to implement, painless to create new content and actually feel (dare I say) fun to use. So, we built it. In this session, you’ll learn how we’ve tackled the challenge of continuous training in Salesforce. We’ll walk through how teams like JLL reduce ramp-up time and communicate change in real-time without ever taking their employees out of a workflow. And, how you can too!
3:15 PM	David Giller - Create the Best User Experience (and increase User Adoption) in Salesforce	Optimizing the Salesforce user interface can be a daunting task. So many features, so many options..it's overwhelming for Admins and Users alike. In this session, you're going to learn best practices to optimize your Salesforce screens for each group of users within your organization, while eliminating unnecessary custom page layouts. You will also learn which features allow you to maximize the data appearing on each screen, without overwhelming your users, and without introducing the need for extra clicks. You will walk away with a solid understanding of how you can improve your existing page layouts to impress your team.
