"Yes, Finance and Development CAN Be Best Friends!".
When I started at my current organization, I was warned that working with Finance would be difficult. In our first meeting, I said, “I’m going to be your new best friend.” The Zoom room politely smiled. I was serious.
At the time, Development was doing a lot of work for Finance manually, often outside of Salesforce. Finance was focused on meeting GAAP standards and audit requirements, but those needs were not always communicated clearly. Development made assumptions without fully understanding Finance’s constraints. Responsibilities were unclear, tensions were high, and the work took forever.
Five years later, the bond between my Finance counterpart and me is unbreakable. By building trust, acting as a go-between, and aligning Salesforce with accounting needs, I was able to remove guesswork and create clearer pathways to reconciliation.
In this webinar, I’ll share practical lessons from leading the Development side of ten clean audits and rebuilding Finance–Development workflows so teams can communicate better and work more effectively.
When Finance and Development become best friends, budgets get balanced, audits become easier, and everyone can dedicate more energy to serving your mission and community.
