We're co-hosting a meeting with the Baltimore Admin group, doing a special hybrid event. We were originally planning on this being purely virtual, but just got approval for a venue. If you're not able to make it in person, you're welcome to join virtually via zoom by registering for this event: https://trailblazercommunitygroups.com/events/details/salesforce-salesforce-admin-group-baltimore-united-states-presents-lying-and-denying-with-statistics/
The event will be in the Community Room at the Cicero Branch of the North Onondaga Public Library.
Metrics are important, but they need to be useful. This means building metrics that allow people to feel empowered. The metrics need to show if we’re doing a good job and how it influences the company. However, it is very easy to craft metrics that do the opposite. Sometimes this is done through malicious compliance, sometimes purely unintentionally. Statistics can be manipulated to say whatever you want, and badly thought out metrics will drive good people to engage in bad habits. Be honest with your boss, your company and yourself. You have the professional, ethical and moral responsibility to do so.
