Salesforce Developer Group, Oslo, Norway
How will AI agents change Salesforce development and the balance between no-code, low-code and pro-code? In five years, will it still make sense to describe someone as a low-code developer or Apex developer, or will the valuable skill be designing good systems on Salesforce regardless of how the implementation is produced?
At our last Salesforce Developer Group meeting on 3 June, we had planned to discuss a topic that is becoming increasingly relevant for all of us working with Salesforce:
How will Salesforce development change in an agentic workday?
We did not manage to reach the topic that day, so we are bringing it back for our meeting on 22 September.
Johan Christian Saarem, Partner at Stretch Engage, will give us a short introduction before we open the discussion to the group.
The starting point is simple: AI agents are becoming part of how we design, build, test and operate software. For Salesforce developers, architects, admins and platform teams, this raises some interesting questions.
What happens to the traditional boundaries between no-code, low-code and pro-code?
Will Flow become more important, or will agents increasingly generate Apex, LWC and integrations for us?
If AI can create a Flow, an Apex class or a Lightning Web Component from a description, where does the real development work move?
How does the role of the Salesforce developer change when implementation becomes faster, but architecture, data, security, governance and quality become even more important?
And perhaps most importantly: what skills should we be building now?
This is not intended to be a presentation about whether AI will replace Salesforce developers. The more interesting discussion is how the work itself changes, what we should delegate to agents, and what we should continue to own as engineers.
This meetup is relevant for Salesforce developers, architects, admins, consultants, tech leads, and anyone curious about where the platform is heading next.
