Come join us in learning Claude Code which is a powerful Agentic AI tool that can be used directly within Visual Studio Code to automate Salesforce development workflows. Unlike a standard chatbot, it can read your local Codebase, execute terminal commands, and modify metadata in your Salesforce project!

Agenda Items for our meeting:

Install Prerequisites: Ensure you have Node.js (v18+) and the Salesforce CLI installed.

Install the Extension: In VS Code, open the Extensions view (Ctrl+Shift+X), search for "Claude Code" by Anthropic, and click Install.

Authenticate: Open the Claude Code panel in VS Code and sign in with your Claude Pro (or higher) subscription.

Connect to Salesforce: In your project terminal, run sf org login web to authenticate your Salesforce Org. Claude can now leverage these CLI credentials

Key Salesforce Use Cases

Metadata Generation: Claude can generate Apex classes, Triggers, and Lightning Web Components (LWC) from a single prompt and save them to your local project.

Deployment & Retrieval: You can ask Claude to "retrieve the Account object metadata" or "deploy these changes to my sandbox." It will run the corresponding Salesforce CLI (SFDX) commands automatically.

Automated Refactoring: Ask Claude to update API versions across all Apex classes or refactor legacy code to follow modern best practices.

Org Health Checks: Claude can analyze your local project files to identify missing field permissions, unused variables, or security gaps before you deploy.

Custom Instructions (CLAUDE.md): You can create a CLAUDE.md file in your project root to give Claude specific instructions on your org's coding standards, such as naming conventions or trigger frameworks
