Salesforce Developer Group, London, United Kingdom

We're getting Stylish. Join us for an evening of CSS. We're going to be looking into styling for developers, and a dive into modern CSS that you might not know about. We will of course have the usual mix of networking and fun, and maybe even some swag to giveaway.

About this event

We're getting Stylish. Join us for an evening of CSS.

Olly will kick us off with a talk on styling for developers, and then Todd we'll take us on a whistle-stop tour of modern CSS that you might not know about.

Please note that this is an IN-PERSON event only, and sadly due to repeat no-shows we might have to start REFUSING ENTRY to folk if they RSVP and repeatedly don't make the events. This is something we really want to enforce, but many folk have not been able to attend the events due to others taking up a ticket and then not showing up. We understand that plans do change, but if they do please update your RSVP as soon as you can.

Style for Developers (a.k.a. that long requested CSS talk) - Olly Scofield

Adding style to your lightning web components can elevate the beauty and function of your solution. Learn how to use CSS in your components in this practical guide and personal journey. It will cover an approach to component design, style basics, dynamic styling and more.

The top modern CSS features every dev needs to know - Todd Halfpenny

Do you know your “inset” from your “accent” or your “subgrid” from your “scroll-snap”?

CSS is continually improving, are you keeping up?

CSS not only enhances an app’s UI, but also its functionality, UX, and accessibility.

You will leave with some seriously good knowledge added to their toolkit.

The session will be a fairly quick fire tour of some of the newest and most useful CSS that SF devs might have missed. We'll cover selectors (inc nesting, is(), has()), attributes like accent, field-sizing, and also some scroll and view animations.

Each item will be shown via a demo (maybe live!!!)

Please note that the entrance to Slalom's office is on the bridge, just behind the bus-stop. Google maps places the entrance on the street below (Montague Close) but that is not the right place to go to.

As always, we will give everyone plenty of time to talk and network, eat, and have a fun and relaxing evening. We'll also cover the latest news from the community, and hopefully have some swag to give away too

Please note this is an in-person only event - only RSVP if you are confident you will be able to attend.

Huge thanks to Slalom for hosting and sponsoring us this month.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting on the day.
