This December, the Salesforce/Tableau Detroit User Group is coming together to make a real difference. We’re volunteering with Operation Good Cheer, a Michigan tradition that has brightened the holidays for children in foster care for over 50 years.

Each year, nearly 20,000 gifts are sorted, and loaded onto planes, and flown across the state—delivering Christmas wishes to kids who might otherwise go without. In 2024 alone, Operation Good Cheer brought smiles to more than 6,700 children and youth, thanks to the dedication of hundreds of volunteers and pilots who help turn this holiday miracle into reality.

Now, it’s our turn to help make the magic happen.

Calling all pilots — your flight plan to make a difference starts here! ✈️
On Saturday, December 6, 2025, volunteer pilots are needed to fly thousands of gifts from Oakland County International Airport to airports across Michigan as part of the Spirit of Good Cheer flights.

If you or someone in your network can help, please register by December 1 at www.goodcheer.us and select “Pilot” to provide your aircraft details.

Volunteer Parking: Will be marked/or directed upon arrival and is, usually, nearby.

Volunteer Check In & Assignments: The volunteer check in table is inside the hanger with posted signs. All Volunteers must sign in. Your group will not all be assigned together.

Attire: Dress for cold weather temperatures. Dress in layers. Even though most of you will be assigned inside the hangar; doors are opened frequently and open for long periods of time.

Food: Volunteers working more than one shift or that have food allergies are encouraged to bring their own snacks. Pop and water will be available. ***PLEASE NO FOOD OR DRINKS IN THE HANGAR***

Day of Event: If you are with a group, you should contact your employer if you have questions or are unavailable for your scheduled shift. OGC does not need to be contacted; we will not be available to take calls. ***ABSOLUTELY NO PHOTOGRAPHING ANY PLANES IN THE HANGER OR ON THE RUNWAY*** Most planes at Pentastar are private and business planes that are not part of OGC
