Save-the-Date! Join us the NYC Salesforce Developer User Group for another great learning event on September 28th, 2017. We will be hosting Pat Patterson and Dima Spivak of StreamSets, looking at data analysis and testing, including the new Salesforce DX scratch org functionality. Topic : Visualizing and Analyzing Salesforce Data with StreamSets and Neo4j Data stored on platforms such as Salesforce, Oracle and SAP is the lifeblood of the modern enterprise. What insights are possible if we combine this data in a powerful graph database like Neo4j? In this session we’ll explain how to ingest business data from Salesforce into Neo4j, exercising the graph database’s unique analytical capabilities. You’ll discover how to load an initial data set and keep it synchronized with the system-of-record, with a focus on the creation of nodes and relationships in Neo4j. We’ll conclude by showing how well-crafted Cypher queries reveal insights from the combined data that are not visible in any of the individual systems. Guest / Experts / Presenters : Pat Patterson , Community Champion at StreamSets Pat has been working with Internet technologies since 1997, building software and communities at Sun Microsystems, Huawei, Salesforce and StreamSets. At Sun, Pat was the community lead for the OpenSSO open source project, while at Huawei he developed cloud storage infrastructure software. In over five years as a developer evangelist at Salesforce, Pat focused on identity, integration and the Internet of Things. Now community champion at StreamSets, Pat is responsible for the care and feeding of the StreamSets open source community. Topic : Automated Integration Testing with Salesforce DX Of the wealth of tools that Salesforce DX offers the developer, one of the most exciting is the scratch org, a disposable Salesforce environment. The scratch org allows developers to quickly spin up different Salesforce editions with their choice of features and preferences. Unlike a traditional Developer Edition, the scratch org can be deleted after use, and is perfect for tasks such as automated testing and continuous integration. In this session, we'll explain how the engineering team at StreamSets uses scratch orgs to test the Data Collector product, and share some of the tips and tricks we've learned in the Salesforce DX pilot and public beta. Guest / Experts / Presenters : Dima Spivak, Software Engineer at StreamSets Dima is a software engineer at StreamSets, where he works on test infrastructure. Before joining StreamSets, he was a software engineer at Cloudera. Dima is also a committer and PMC member on the Apache HBase project. Agenda : 6:00 - 6:30 - Networking - Meet and greet 6:30 - 7:30 - Presentations 7:30 - 8:30 - More Networking! Food and drink will be provided during the event.
