Salesforce DX for Absolute Beginners

May 16, 2019, 12:00 – 2:00 AM

Join the Denver Salesforce Developer user group to learn about SFDX - what it is, how to use it, and tips and tricks.

About this event

Jumping into VS Code, Git, and Scratch orgs can be somewhat intimidating. This session will demystify Salesforce’s newest set of tools for anyone from a beginner admin to an expert developer.

Our speaker George Sowards has extensive experience in Salesforce Development, Consulting, and ISV Development. After managing developers and architecting projects for several years, he jumped back into the life of developing day in and day out just this year. With all the new “stuff”, it was not like riding a bike.

George will be walking us through the basics of getting SFDX set up in your development workflow as well as tips and tricks he learned along the way.

The sessions agenda includes:

• Installing VS Code for Salesforce Development

• Connecting VS Code to a sandbox environment

• Using VS Code and the Salesforce Command Line Interface to create a scratch org

• Publish and Deploy your code

• Creating reusable test data files
